Mar 31, 2010 I've always wondered by software licenses aren't stored as a keychain. I had a hard drive go south a few weeks back, and luckily all the licenses were recovered except for one. No quibbles with the developer, who resent the license code, but it seems like the keychain is the place for this to go. Reports on software licenses are stored in a centralized location, providing fast access to software license records. The ability to create and enforce customizable license thresholds serves to simplify the management process, and managing software at a network level means one license can be shared across multiple devices, reducing overall. There are a lot methods used and places where licenses and registration keys are stored: User specific: / /Library/Application Support/Application or domain /Library/Preferences This might be plist files, invisible.domain.plist and.random.plist files or files and folders containing files with random names. Also specific 'License'-files exist.
Where Are Software Licenses Stored On Mac Computer
When I purchase a new iMac or Macbook, will license purchases from the old computer transfer over to the new machine? If so, how does one go about transferring purchased licenses. (i.e. – CleanMyMac, MacScan, Mac DVDRipper Pro, etc.)
I imagine that this depends on the individual developer, but I am curious about peoples’ experiences with this issue.

Thanks.
